Join Mark Fitzgerald & Lew Tarnopol to explore an evening of light-painting and Milky Way photography. We’ve picked out a location near Portland that is away from city lights that has picnic tables and restrooms. It will be a moonless evening, perfect for light painting and photographing the stars. We will start off with detailed instruction on camera settings, tips for working in the dark, useful apps, night photography etiquette, and more. Then as darkness begins we’ll experiment with light painting and long exposures. Once it gets completely dark, we’ll settle-in for Milky Way photography and star trails. By the end of the workshop you will have learned everything you need to know to begin having fun with your camera at night and create stunning images.
